'Tis the Season....

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here again today and I've used some great stamps from the store to create my card, combining both new and old stamps.

This stamp is perfect for seasonal creations.  Who doesn't remember the fun we had using The Back Door, placing our sleds against the house and leaving our boots outside!

I used Memento Markers to color the image then cut it to size, matting it with navy cardstock.  The sentiment is from Sentiments 1.

The background paper sets the mood for the winter scene.

Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from Just For Fun.  This is such a special time of the year and for most of us, we really hope to see snow on Christmas day.  This is pretty rare in the south.  This card is for those of you who have been dreaming of a white Christmas.

The background is using Color Bursts and the Galaxy Technique.  I used Indigo, Ultramarine Blue, Merlot, and Yellow Ochre on watercolor paper.  After adding the water droplets to the background, I splattered it with a little Platinum Liquid Metals.  This gave a great shimmer to some spots which sadly does not show up in the pictures.

The new Silhouette Pines image, along with the Joy To The World from the Sentiments 1 Unmounted Sheet, were stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with detail white powder.  To me this looked like a snow scene with the northern lights in the background.

Whether you have snow or not, cold or warm, we hope today is extra special for each of you.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you and yours

from all of us here at Just For Fun Rubber Stamps!

Have a safe and happy holiday!!

Peppermint Christmas

Hi! It is designer April here again. I hope you have been enjoying this Christmas season. I want to show you a Christmas card I made using some of our new stamps.

I took a blue inked background and added some sticker snowflakes to it and cut a window from brown distressed paper using a Memory Box die. I adhered it over the blue background and added it to the green checkered paper. I stamped the new Canning Jar sm. stamp on acetate and fussy cut it. I stamped the new Peppermint Candies 1 using red ink , fussy cut them and placed them behind the jar. I adhered the jar to the window. A paper doily was placed under the window. The saying is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.

Thanks so much for stoppong by!

I wish all of you a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!

A Winter Scene...

Hi ya JFF peeps, today I am showing you a musical winter card. With Christmas just around the corner and lots of people listening to holiday music I thought this card would be a good fit.
I used 2 stamps from the store, the deer is called Right Facing Buck and the tree is called Small Snow Pine. Both are available in the store. I used musical tissue paper for the background and the ink is StazOn.  Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Holidays!

5 minute Hand-stamped Christmas Card

Hello from designer, Heidi.  This card comes from a last-minute need to send a Christmas card.  Someone send me a card this year, and I hadn’t yet sent them one.  I LOVE receiving cards, so even though my stash is depleted, I want to make them a card, too.

This card literally took me less than 5 minutes.  I used the set of 4 snowflakes in the Snowflakes Mini Cube set and a really beautiful saying, Have a Wonderful Christmas.   I first stamped the saying in black.  Then I chose 3 colors of light blue inks and stamped the snowflakes from corner to corner.  I used a glitter pen to add some accents and added some gems. The result is clean and simple, but still handmade!

If I had more time, I would have use some Nuvo glitter drops, but they require dry time, so I went with gems.  You could also easily cut a matted frame for the card front if you don’t have a decorative frame die.  If you don’t have several colors of inkpads, try some water based markers, or use generation stamping to get different tones.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas season and Happy Holidays!

Serene Winter Scene

Today I wanted to create a card that celebrated the season but stayed away from all that red and green that we suddenly see everywhere! So I took a little less traditional approach and used a couple of stamps from our Just For Fun winter collection.

The main stamp that I used was that beautiful Ice Skaters stamp and since I was taking a less traditional approach I wanted the card to be subtle so I used some tone on tone colors. I used the lighter side of some glacier cardstock and stamped using that same color ink.

Do you not just love that scene stamp!! The details are a lot of fun. As you will see the stamp includes people playing hockey (my new favorite sport) as well as the water ripples and that house in the distance! It  really captures the essence of the season.
Of course how do you ever choose just one JFF stamp?! I partnered the Ice Skaters
stamp along with On Dasher... which is another fabulous stamp.

I tried to keep the classic feel of the stamp so I inked around all of my edges.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you would like to see some more of my projects you can come on over and say hello.

Oh Christmas Tree!

My favorite part of Christmas is my Christmas tree! I can't get into holiday mode until it is decorated. I can just sit in front of it with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and just enjoy the ambiance of the Christmas lights. It's pure joy!

Just For Fun Rubber Stamps ornament image from the Ornament Cube and Joy sentiment.

I kept my card simple. I stamped the images and heat embossed with gold embossing powder on watercolor paper. I painted the Christmas tree branches and added some red color with Gansai Tambi watercolors and some Crystal Stickles for sparkle.

Our December challenge Any Holiday is going on now! Stamp a card, tag, ATC, mixed media project, etc. celebrating your favorite holiday.  You don't have to use a JFF stamp but it's always encouraged.

Latte Love Card

Hello from designer, Heidi!  I know you are so busy, so this is going to be a quick share!  I made this card with Valentine’s in mind - a warm latte to warm your heart in the cold weather!  Main image (Latte Love) is colored with alcohol markers, the Coffee Background stamped in brown ink.

Although it is hard to see, I did add some wink of stella glitter to the image.

Our Monthly Challenge is to make a card for the holiday of your choice, so Valentines are happily accepted (in addition to Christmas, New Years, etc!). Hope you will choose to participate - you might even win the prize!

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here again today and I've used some great stamps from the store to create my card, combining both new and old stamps.  With less than 2 weeks until Christmas, I've got a quick Christmas card to share.

I began with a sheet of kraft cardstock onto which I stamped assorted Christmas phrases from the Sentiments 1 stamp set.  I love the variety of sizes and fonts available on these stamps.

Once the background was done, it was just a matter of deciding how to add the jar of peppermint sticks.  I used the Small Canning Jar stamp then added the peppermint sticks inside using a masking technique.  Then I fussy cut the jar and added it to a black die cut circle which was added to a red die cut circle.  Merry Christmas was added to the right side of the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Teapot Is On...

Winter arrived this weekend in the southeast.  It snowed off and on for two days by me - those big, fluffy flakes floating straight down and settling on everything.  It left a beautiful winter wonderland that I enjoyed from my den, bundled up under blankets sipping hot tea.

The background for the card I am sharing uses different cardstock from Authentique’s Alpine collection.  The “Afternoon Tea” Die’sire die from Crafters Companion was cut from two different cardstocks, cut apart, and layered together.  This was added to a strip of cream cardstock on top of the wintery decorative background piece.

I love this sentiment, Tea pot is on...  I had planned to stamp it directly on the background but it got a little lost in all the design so I ended up stamping it on cream cardstock.

I didn’t get to share my tea with friends this weekend, since I was actually running a temperature, but I hope we all remember to make time for those that are dear to us during this busy holiday season.  Maybe spend time sipping tea and stamping cards!

Stamptangle Star Christmas Card

Hello from design team member, Heidi!  I have a quick share today using the Stamptangle Stars, large and small and a non-traditional color combo!  The sentiment is from Unmounted Sentiment sheet 1.

I heat embossed my stars with gold powder and trimmed them out.  I added some Nuvo glitter drops to the centers. Then I used an embossing folder on a scrap of lumiere paper for the background.  The shimmer is really pretty in real life.  Of course, I spent a lot of time moving the stars around, but eventually decided on an arrangment and glued everything down.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have an amazing day!

'Tis The Season

Merry Christmas from designer April! I hope you are enjoying this Christmas season. I want to show you a card I made using part of the new stamp Couple Under The Light Post. I inked up just the light post and stamped it on my blue inked background. I added yellow stickles glitter for the light. I also stamped the Snowy Pine, sm. stamp using green ink onto the inked background. I then applied white Liquid Applique and clear stickles glitter to the tree and ground. This piece was matted to red card stock and adhered to patterned paper. The saying is from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.  The squiggles under the sentiment are mine.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We have a new challenge this month and we would love to see you join in. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas season!

Traveling Holidays...

Hi JFF fans, today I am sharing a fun little card. I know a lot of people travel for the holidays and some even bring along their campers so they have their own space to "get away to". So I thought this card would be a take on that.
For this card, I used the stamp Round Camper for a little holiday cheer. There is a hint of snow on the lights, door and window and a little frost on the ground. Just a different take on the holidays. There are some out there that like to travel and get festive in their home away from home! Just a little thinking outside the box.
Have a wonderful day and enjoy the season!   Carolyn

Sparkling Silver Wonderland

This is designer, Heidi, and I have a fun, wintery card to share today. It has plenty of sparkle and shine. I used the gorgeous, new Silhouette Pines stamp today, heat embossed in silver and then cut down to a smaller size.

I added lots of layers to this card, but making it monochromatic kept it from getting too busy.  The base is sparkly lumiere paper, topped with a printed silver acetate.  The glitter ribbon and brad ground the scene nicely.  I took photographs from a few angles to try to show the shine.

Thanks for stopping by!  How are you doing on your holiday cards and tags?  Hopefully, you will have time for stamping today!
